The Rand Nature Center in Freeport, Grand Bahama was the site of our very first official My Science! My Conch! program. With the support of the staff of the Bahamas National Trust, we got off to a great start! Students and teachers from Eight Mile Rock High School and St. Georges High School joined us for a full day of being the scientists! With a group of over 40 people, we got a lot of shells measured. In fact, we measured about twice as many as we expected too! These students caught on so quickly that by the time we finished, we had measured nearly 400 shells at the Fishing Hole Road conch shell dump site. There are many more to be measured for next time! Thanks to everyone for coming out to participate!
